Website Speed Before and After WordPress Rebuild
We use GTmetrix to analyse a websites page speed and performance. All websites need to be mobile responsive and fast. 40% of users will leave a website if it takes more than 3 seconds to load. Here are the before and after results:
- Previous Developer GT Metrix report: 20 seconds load time, homepage size 5 MB, web server requests 160
- Latest GT Metrix report: 3 seconds load time, homepage size 0.790 MB, web server requests 59
From a very slow 20 second load time to the industry standard of 3 seconds is a huge improvement for Mills Display. Speed and performance plays a huge role in the success and failure of any business website.
We Custom build all of our WordPress websites
The old WordPress template used was camp.progressionstudios.com. The Kiwise Digital team professionally plan, custom build and help manage all new client websites.
We do not advise the use of a purchased website templates, most website providers buy from websites such as themeforest.net for $49. Many of these templates may look good, however we have tested many of these templates. The code is generally very poor, the website will be slow and difficult to customise.
They also require far too many plugins and use plugins like Divi Page Builder Plugin, Visual Composer Plugin and Beaver Builder Page Builder Plugin. This type of page builder appeal to many users, however the code created by these plugins is very bad for SEO and website page speed.
These type of website templates are also cheap from $39 to $399, however the long term results will never compare with professional coding and WordPress training. Always check the Code to Text Ratio. Page Builder plugins create far too much code and make it difficult for Search Engine bots to crawl.
